Despising Age was born in 2012 in Ticino, Switzerland, from the idea of David Pizzuti (guitar and screams), Russell Knobel (guitar and growls), and Matteo Martini (Drums) to create an uncompromising Death Metal band.
Still, without a bass player, the band records the demo “DEMOnstration Of Hatred” and makes its debut as opener for The Modern Age Slavery.
In 2014 the band completes the recording of the first EP "A New Dawn of Celestial Suffering" with the bass player Riccardo Catinella, and during the summer participates at the TOTAL METAL FESTIVAL sharing the stage with BEHEMOTH, KREATOR, ANNIHILATOR, and many others.
Early 2016 sees the entry of Paride Casu (Heavy Demons, Amphitrium) on bass and Alessandro Caruso (Ira, Helion) on drums.
The potential of the new line-up allows a new step forward in the quality of the band's songwriting. Thus the new Swiss quartet gives birth to the second EP "Path Into Insanity", recorded and mixed at Jack Demon's Brainscan Studios (CONSUMED BY VULTURES), and mastered at Toxic Basement (CRIPPLE BASTARD, RAW POWER, BLASPHEMER ...) by Carlo Leatherface.
In 2017 the live activity increased with gigs such as the Purulent Death Fest (with DEAD INFECTION, OBSCENITY, VALGRIND,…) and then opening to the Americans SUFFOCATION in Bellinzona.
In 2018 David is forced to leave due to work commitments, and the others decide to continue as a trio.
While working on the new material, the band continue the live activity opening for bands such as PURTENANCE, UNBIRTH, HELLISH GOD.
During spring 2020, Despising Age enters again the Brainscan Studios for recording their first full length. Reamp, mixing, and mastering are entrusted to Stefano Morabito of the 16th Cellar Studio in Rome (FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE, DECREPIT BIRTH, HIDEOUS DIVINITY, OBSCENITY) for an international quality result.
