AUTUMN TEARS – THE GLOW OF DESPERATION ( Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of American Neoclassical Darkwave band Autumn Tears’ new album.

The band have returned with another lengthy opus (perhaps of excessive duration for many listeners though) of dark melodies that combine classical music with a modern touch and even bits of opera. Perhaps a differential trait between this album and their early ones is an abandonment of a bit of ambience thriving to higher symphonic grandeur, although they clearly are the same band with their same own style.

Thanks to the performance of numerous talented musicians, this album is a decent release that may even appeal (given the right mood) to fans of many different music genres. My personal highlights are the title track, “For You The Nameless… We Sing” and “Wordless Waltz”.

I recommend this album to fans of Neoclassical Darkwave, Neofolk, Classical Music and Dark Ambient. My rating is of 8,5/10.
