Today’s review is of Croatian Heavy Metal band Rapid Strike’s new self-titled album.
This band combines classic Heavy Metal with hints of Hard Rock in a pretty melodic way that permits both guitars to shine beneath an appropriate vocal performance, although sometimes there is an unnecessary use of effects that such a voice does not need (as on “Sweet Terror”).
While some songs like “Just A Lie” captivate with such emotional solos and songs like “Viper’s Nest” show a nice rougher edge, some of the ballads seem to miss feeling, making them just be some weaker tracks instead of softer bits that maintain the listener’s attention. Despite the presence of unmemorable pieces, this album also contains some songs that are worth checking out.
I recommend this album to fans of Heavy Metal and Hard Rock. My rating is of 7,5/10.
