INTELLIGENT MUSIC PROJECT – THE CREATION (Review by Varg The Mighty)

Today’s review is of Bulgarian Progressive Rock band Intelligent Music Project’s new album.

Filled with incredibly talented special guests from some of the best rock bands, this album sounds very old-school. The feeling mostly transmitted isn’t of pure Progressive Rock (although some songs may be catalogued as so), but perhaps of 70’s Scorpions, especially thanks to the vocal performance. Combined with guitar compositions that remind of Uli Jon Roth, the album achieves some deep solos, and combined with the keyboards reaches a high status of virtuosity.

Other songs also bring to mind Pink Floyd, King Crimson or the most Progressive side of Queen (as on Queen II), while some acoustic tracks also add some beauty besides the action provided by other songs, making the whole full-length quite enjoyable and diverse, with influences that span even towards jazz.

I recommend this album to fans of Progress

ive Rock and 70’s Hard Rock. My rating is of 9/10.
