Today’s review is of Australian Thrash Metal band Hidden Intent’s new album.
This band delivers furious Thrash Metal that sounds as if Overkill met Groove Metal and German Speed Metal. Combining heavy grooves with catchy riffs and fast solos, this album has decent songs, such as “A Place Of Horror”, “Forgotten Fate” or the title track, which features some great guests: Michael Stützer Hansen and Kræn Meier of Artillery.
In general, this release doesn’t bring anything really new, but their aggressive way of playing Thrash Metal is quite nice to hear, it’s as if the Bay Area scene met the mayhem displayed on the album cover. To wrap up the full-length, a couple of covers finish perfecting the tracklist (one of The Chats’ “Pub Feed” and one of Slayer’s “Altar Of Sacrifice”, two very different songs that have been well adapted to their style).
I recommend this album to fans of Thrash Metal and Groove Metal. My rating is of 8,5/10.
