Today’s review is of Indonesian Death Metal band Devoured’s new album, out on April 30th.
This album is a display of powerful, hard-hitting and dark Death Metal in the likes of the Swedish bands (an influence clearly shown with the cover of Dismember’s incredible “Dreaming In Red”), while they also add the unique traits of their own movement. Also notable may be that slightest hints of Thrash Death Metal that may appear in the fastest songs and make the album more interesting.
With a certain amount of melody that doesn’t overshadow the carnage produced by the music and well-placed tempo alterations, this album has a lot of good tracks, of which I highlight “Hasut, Jerat, Bunuh” and “Siasat Sang Maha Patih Paripurna”.
I recommend this album to fans of Thrash Death Metal and Swedish and Indonesian Death Metal. My rating is of 9/10.
