ZEIT – BETONKREBS ( Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of German Black Doom band Zeit’s new EP.

This release has absolutely nothing to do with their previous endeavours. Instead, they have taken here a totally new musical direction. The EP has the band giving their attempt at Grindcore, and in doing it the creation of a curious new approach to it.

These songs have a lot of Punk and Death Metal influences too that appear more or less depending on the songs, and on some tracks they even show vestiges of their previous Black Doom music, although these are pretty subtle. Their way of playing Grindcore is pretty curious and hard to catalogue, but some of the songs composed are actually quite good, like “Stillgestanden”. This is a violent and straightforward release that may dazzle fans of their previous works.

I recommend this to fans of Grindcore and Death Metal. My rating is of 8/10.
