The history of LYRA MORTEM stems from the friendship that for many years
José María Hervás (Guitar and main composer) and Antonio
Conte (Battery). From a very young age they set up their first bands reaching
to be like brothers, learning both music and life, together.
It is in one of those formations, in the BRUC group, when they incorporate
Carlos Fernández (Solo Guitar) and becomes an inseparable part, both
in the musical as in the personal, of the life of José and Antonio (Toni).
With that band they give a good series of concerts both in Catalonia
as outside of it to make itself known, with very good acceptance on the part
of the public. But there is a turning point when, for differences in how
see the group, Bruc dissolves.
Some time later, José was diagnosed with heart disease quite
serious that he had to face, fearing even for his life. This fact
undoubtedly changed his life and once the drink was over, counting on the
Unconditional support from his family creates THE LEGACY project.
In it he records the songs that have marked him the most throughout his life in the
heavy metal universe. Songs from Accept, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden,
Queensryche and a long etcetera accompanied by musicians from the scene

that's when he meets Sergio Bermúdez (Voice).
Sergio, an old acquaintance of the Catalan band circuit, from
groups like Dragonslayer or Alyanza, collaborates in The Legacy singing a
theme, emerging between José and Sergio a friendship and mutual admiration that
lasts until today, even deciding that they have to do a
project together. Thanks to The Legacy and a long time later, José
he regains contact with Toni, resuming the desire to set up a band together.
For this occasion they decide between themselves and Carlos Fernández, who never stopped
be there also collaborating on The legacy, take up the idea of reforming Bruc
or something similar.
For the position of vocalist, José turns to Sergio, who becomes part of
of the band, suggesting some changes to start from scratch ...
After the tireless search for a bass player, the perfect piece appears that is missing in the
band, Carlos Cruz (Bassist) who closes a stable formation, blowing air
fresh and eager to do things right.
Working tirelessly and with the same enthusiasm as when they started
LYRA MORTEM is forged, a classic heavy metal project with a sound
current and forceful that drinks from influences of all times, without leaving
behind his personal way of approaching and understanding music.
In 2019 they signed for The Fish Factory and launched “Against Time and

In "Contra el tiempo y el destino" you can find powerful guitars, a
crushing rhythmic base and a heartbreaking voice, which make up a whole
statement of intents.

And that is precisely what Lyra Mortem proposes: heavy metal with a more
classic and powerful, dressed in the sounds of 2019, dark,
hurtful and sharp.
All this, initialed with texts in Spanish that will make you feel, both the
purest feelings, like the most visceral emotions within you.
Recorded in its entirety at the Axtudio de Barcelona, an unequivocal sign of
quality and forcefulness, "Contra el tiempo y el destino" is an album that does not
