Inspired by his own life experiences, Moriyama creates songs to connect people around the world. With his guitar as the main instrument, the musician mixes a variety of sound elements and styles in "Horizon", his debut instrumental album.
Lucio Moriyama presents his identity with strong and dynamic guitar solos in a unique style, showing off that his passion goes beyond his own music. He composed all the songs and their arrangements, making use of a range of instruments to enrich the sound context and the vital protagonism of his guitar. Moriyama gathers technique and emotion in his songs referring to the culture of his ancestors from Japan such as "Ikebana", which is the culture of arranging flowers and branches in order to highlight their beauty and harmony; and “Hannya”, the theater mask that represents a person in envy and other negative feelings who became a demon.
“Dirty Heart”, as an example, in Lucio's words is "a track in which my approach matured as a composer and performer". On “Neon Tokyo”, the album's latest single, the inspiration came from game tracks and synths that go back to the 80s. "Moon" is a song made to travel in all possible ways, and “Horizon”, which entitles the album, was created with the intention of creating new paths and horizons on the career of this well determined and inspired musician.
The work has its cover and design created by the art-therapist, also from São Paulo, Izabel Magnani, and photos taken by Dani Sandrini. The album features Mathews Botelho playing piano and Ricky Lucas playing bass, both in the "Horizon" track. Marco Slon helped in pre-production, and Beto Lins played bass in "Ikebana", "Champagne" and "Void", besides being the album co-producer.
