IRONBOURNE - IronBourne (2021). ( Review by Alex Mandel )

I put it on non-stop and I can't stop seeing DIO's elongated shadow. They are not a copy, or tracing or anything like that, but the influence would put my hand in the fire ... and it would not burn me. Already with The Dreamer it is clear to me. It's just that I imagine Ronnie James singing these songs. The comparisons are odious but it is that at least in my modest opinion (later I can be lynched if you feel like it), the influence is evident. But Torbjörn Andersson is not the Voice but he delivers.
Personally, I am a friend of faster things but if these topics keep me entertained, they are worth it. Musically, vocally, there is quality. Not so original in the sense that they don't innovate but, fuck they catch!
I could cite topic by topic like Elusive Reality but the result is the same, very compact topics. Very well cared for and with very cool rhythm inputs. These people have tables, of course.
Despite the intros, how careful each song is. I have none left over. They are not repetitive but they are homogeneous within the lp. I do not see (from my point of view, of course), none that stands out above but that does not mean that it is bad, rather the opposite. Even Twilight of gods that varies from vocal register fits like a glove.
It is an album that has pleasantly surprised me, really. The influence is remarkable but the quality as well.

My rating is : 8/10
