Today’s review is of American Heavy Metal band Immortal Sÿnn’s new album, out on May 7th.
This album is quite diverse, mixing the purest kind of American Heavy Metal with a touch of Bay Area Thrash Metal and even some Folk Metal. Throughout the album, every now and then the quite average Heavy Metal songs will suddenly remind you of Overkill, Anthrax and sometimes more unexpected bands like Cruachan or Rage Against The Machine.
While some of these deviations are enjoyable and make the album much more fun to hear, they may also give the band a lack of identity. Nonetheless, if you don’t expect anything serious and instead want to put on some fun yet powerful Heavy Metal you may want to check this out. The songs I highlight are “Fight The Prince” and “Satan’s Tavern”, but they surely don’t represent the whole full-length. If you want all the surprises it hides you must hear the complete thing.
I recommend this album to fans of Heavy Metal and American Thrash Metal. My rating is of 7,5/10.
