Evilon is a swedish metalband that plays Folk Metal.
The band was created in 2015 by Kenneth Evstrand and Jonny Sjödin.
The band consists of:
Kenneth Evstrand - Guitar/Choir
Jonny Sjödin – Guitar/ Lead-Growling Vocals
Björn Wildjärn - Bass/Choir/Lead-Clean Vocals
Anders Hagen - Drums
In the beginning the musicstyle was Melodic Death Metal in the style of At The Gates, Amon Amarth and In Flames among others.
During 2016 the music evolved and is now inspired by Celtic and Nordic folkmusic.
We found our bassplayer and our lead/growler early on. It then took some time before the band was complete but in August 2016 we
finally found a drummer that met our requirements and we could really start our journey.
During the winter of 2016 Evilon recorded its first EP called "Shores Of Evilon". It contains five songs written in 2016.
The EP was recorded independently by Evilon and it was mixed and mastered by Big Balls Productions. It was then released
in January 2017 on Spotify, Itunes, Google Play, Youtube and Soundcloud.
In June 2017, the recordings for a full length album began. One year later it was finished and the name was "Leviathan".
The album contained ten new songs, full of great melodies, awesome vocals and heavy riffs!
In February 2018 we signed a worldwide distribution contract with the Italian recordlabel Wormholedeath Records for the release
of the album Leviathan.
The album was released digitally in July 2018 and physical in Europe, USA and Japan in the autumn of 2018.
During 2019-2020, we have changed the line-up of the band, we are now a four piece band, Jonny has taken the position as our main growler.
We have been focusing on getting our new line-up working and we have been writing new songs. As a result of the sound of the new songs,
we have changed our genre description from Melodic/Folk/Death Metal to simply Folk Metal.
We have recorded a video for a new single. The single is called "Walk Of The Damned".
The artwork for the release of the new single has been done
and a new band-logo has seen the day.
New band-photos with the new lineup has been taken.
As for now, we have written new songs and have enough for a new album.
The plan is to record a new album this year 2021 wich will future the single "Walk Of The Damned".
