Steve "Dobby" Dawson (Son Of A Bitch/Saxon/Oliver- Dawson Saxon...) Review by Javier Barba Vallejo

The day before yesterday Steve "Dobby" Dawson, bassist and founding member of Saxon, turned 69 and now for years alma matter with his comrade in arms Graham Oliver in Oliver / Dawson Saxon, a band in which they perform and recall the successes of their years of stay with the original Saxon and in which they also released a very good 80s-tinged Heavy Metal studio album "Motorbiker" (2012).
I remember that at the end of the E.G.B. In my early teens when I was entering the world of Metal listening to bands like AC / DC and Kiss, one day the elders of the neighborhood (today almost all of them sadly disappeared and the heroin in my neighborhood in the 80s hit very hard ) appeared with the usual battery-powered "parrot" of a loudspeaker that sounded like rays in the replaceta where the little ones played soccer and there that day I heard for the first time Scorpions and Saxon with their then new album The Eagle Has Landed ( 1982), I have to say that the first listening to this album on that pulpy radio cassette captivated my senses, marking the beginning of my dedication to the world of Metal and Rock, later when I sought and became interested in that band that so brutally suggested my few neurons I came across The Story and Photographs of Biff Byford, Graham Oliver, Pete Gill, Paul Quinn, Nigel Glockler and Steve Dawson who impressed me with their live videos and photos.

So if I had a band idol that marked me enormously by following second to seven streets, that was Steve Dawson from Saxon.
I was lucky enough to personally meet my teenage idol in 2019 at an O.D. saxon to which I travel to Valencia and also meet again with Graham Oliver after many years, they offered a GREAT concert for about 26 people since people did not respond in any concert of the entire tour through Spanish territory, although they gave everything for their I publish and it was a very special day for me that he did not change it for any Sant Jordi of any famous Metal band.
Thank you very much and special mention for your very kind treatment to all the assistants to the brave promoter Rafa and the people of the "Paverse Matao Club" of Valencia, who by the way almost does the taxi driver who took me to the room !!!!
I bought a guitar for that occasion that the whole O.D. band signed for me. Saxon, keeping the other one from Saxon with the signatures of the current five and apart from various material he stamped his precious autograph on my vest along with all the Saxons, but ...... I said to him "You here big on the eagle "and he did so.

Taking advantage of this public post, the oldest image ever seen of Son Of A Bitch the band before Saxon when only Graham Oliver and Steve Dawson from 1973 were in it !!!!

Taken from an international fan club that everyone was crazy about and had been published by my Facebook friend from Barcelona and a great Denim Leather crack.
So congratulations Steve and thank you very much for your contribution to the world of Metal.

                           NEVER  SURRENDER  !!!!!
