Today’s review is of American Progressive Hard Rock band Cultt Of She’s debut album.
This band is the reincarnation of Rock veterans Roulette, that despite having the same line-up have opted for a name change to portray better their musical evolution.
The songs of this album have a very modern feeling, with a guitar and keyboard combination that is quite innovative. Adding to this a good female vocal performance well equilibrated by nice backing vocals, the band achieve a very Progressive concept that sometimes gets quite extreme and metal, like on “Everybody Hates Me”.
On some other songs, their approach is much more commercial, even implementing pop influences, like on “One Bad Day Away”. The album is pretty diverse and seems to have some potential for fans of modern Rock, but in my opinion it is slightly too long and with this duration the release is a bit tiring in the end.
I recommend this album to fans of Hard Rock and Progressive Metal. My rating is of 8/10.
