BLACK SABBATH the Masters of Rock reissue their 1972 platinum album: 'Vol.4', with more than 20 unreleased recordings !!!

  The creators of Heavy Metal reissue their legendary 'Vol. 4' (BMG, 2021) in a new edition that includes a new remastering of the album along with big surprises such as 20 unreleased recordings live and in the studio. ‘VOL 4: SUPER DELUXE EDITION’ will be available on February 12, 2021 in 4 CDs and 5 LPs formats (pressed on 180 gram vinyl).

 

Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward: Black Sabbath released their fourth album in 1972 with the curious title "Vol.4". The album included new songs (now Rock classics) such as "Supernaut", "Changes" and "Snowblind". The album took advantage of the group's growing popularity around the world to reach No. 10 on the UK album chart and No. 20 on the Billboard in the US, being certified Platinum by the RIAA ( Recording Industry Association of America).  FOR MANY ITS BEST CREATIVE MOMENT AND ABOVE ALL, THE CONSOLIDATION OF ITS IMPRESSIVE SOUND

This new remastered 'Vol.4' edition of the album will also be available for digital download and streaming on all digital platforms.

 

The album has been strengthened with this new remastering, the ambitious arrangements and complex rhythms of 'Vol.4' have never sounded more inspired and powerful. Originally released in September 1972. This new album had two essential changes from their first three albums ('Black Sabbath', 'Paranoid' and 'Master of Reality') which were produced by Rodger Bain and recorded in his native England. For ‘Vol.4’ his entire team traveled to the Record Plant in Los Angeles (USA) and the production was carried out by the band itself.

 

Both versions will include extensive booklets with notes from the four members of the group, quotes from the press of the time, unpublished photos and a large poster with the first illustrations planned for the album, with the first provisional title that was considered 'Snowblind' and that it was eventually discarded.

This generous edition, loaded with extra material from 'VOL. 4: SUPER DELUXE EDITION 'begins with six unreleased studio takes, recorded in the original sessions of the album. Each track has been mixed by Steven Wilson using the analog multitracks found. Among the most relevant, it should be noted that they include discarded takes of "Supernaut" and "Changes", as well as an instrumental version of "Under The Sun".

 

This new Deluxe format also includes 11 new studio recordings (also recently mixed by Wilson from the analog multitracks found) among which you can listen to alternative takes that were discarded, false starts and fragments of studio dialogue. These tracks transport Black Sabbath fans directly into the studio environment and live as the band recorded from the album. Along with various alternate takes of "Wheels Of Confusion", these recordings also feature discarded complete takes of "The Straightener" and "Snowblind."
