Today’s review is of Chilean Thrash Metal band Betrayed’s new compilation.
This compilation features virtually their whole discography from their early days, so it is a good release to get if you’re interested in their music.
As the songs were originally released decades ago, the sound is obviously very old-school, portraying times were Thrash Metal was all about the extremity and not a virtuous display of prowess. The band sounds a lot like Bay Area Thrash, with social lyrics and catchy choruses over nice riffs that aren’t necessarily the most violent but are apt for moshing nonetheless. While the band doesn’t sound too outstanding, they are absolutely not bad, so if you want some classic Thrash Metal you should check it out.
I recommend this album to fans of Thrash Metal, especially American Thrash Metal. My rating is of 8/10.
