Today’s review is of American Heavy Metal band Bloody Hammers’ new album.
This release explores slightly new territories for the duo, with a heavy implementation of Horror Punk in the style of Misfits into their music. Combined with their Heavy Metal that leans heavily towards Gothic Rock, they sure have composed an album full of Rock & Roll.
The sound is completely American, and with such a powerful voice the result are quite catchy songs with simple riffs but nice bass lines. Personally, my favourite tracks are “Hands Of The Ripper”, “Not Of This Earth” and “The Ones Who Own The Dark”. Their Gothic influences are very prominent in the record, but often it is the Punk side to them that stands out the most, except on some tracks like “Lucifer’s Light”, a song that reminds somewhat of Ghost. Overall, this is a decent album if you’re in the mood for some good and old-school American Rock with a dark side to it.
I recommend this to fans of Death Rock, Gothic Rock, American Hard Rock, Stoner Rock, Horror Punk and American Heavy Metal. My rating is of 9/10.
