MY DEATH BELONGS TO YOU – THE WORLD SEEMS TO BE FADING (Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of Swiss One-Man Funeral Doom Metal band My Death Belongs To You’s debut album.
Consisting of 5 long and miserable tracks, it transmits all the pain and sorrow pretty well as intended, but it kind of lacks some originality. This is a perfectly common Funeral Doom album, with very few and long chords over arpeggios under deep guttural vocals combined with calmer clear parts.
Despite not being quite innovative, this album is immersive and it really sinks you into the lugubrious depths of Doom’s slowest subgenre. The album has its peaceful moments with interesting pianos (especially on “The Morning After Death” or “Mon Tombeau”), and its heavier apocalyptic passages have a good contrast that doesn’t feel at all arbitrary in the evolution of each song. If you’re into pure, down-tuned Doom you’ll probably like this.
I recommend this to fans of pure Funeral Doom Metal. My rating is of 8,5/10.
