Leaving almost complete behind their original Grindcore style, the remains of it on this album are scarce, most visible on “Ailleurs” and “Sans Racines”, but the rest of the album tends towards a much more transcendental and less direct musical style, perhaps comparable to some Progressive Death Metal bands.
This aforementioned style is very unique though, without the technical necessities of the style and with a hint of darkness beneath some very particular vocals that are forced, high pitched and great combined with the music. Perhaps it is most comparable to some Napalm Death albums, in which dissonance, experimentation and slightly slower tempos prevail over the also notable fast paced parts.
This album is definitely not Grindcore, but some songs like the title track are as aggressive even if they are completely differently composed. This album is quite interesting and definitely enjoyable, I recommend it to fans of Progressive Death Metal, modern Napalm Death and other similar bands. My rating is of a 9/10.
