ALRIGHT Brother - “DEPLOY” Election Year Mix- (Industrial)

For fans of: NIN, Ministry, Meat Beat Manifesto

Release Date: October 8th, 2020

VENICE, CA, USA, October, 2020 -- Just in time for Halloween and the terrors of election season, veteran Los Angeles musician and visual artist, ALRIGHT brother has released an overhaul of his mid-2019 studio effort, “DEPLOY”. The updated “DEPLOY (election year mix)" is entirely remixed, remastered and includes two new tracks. This project highlights the genre-hopping artist’s love for horror/post-punk/goth/ industrial sounds of the late 70s and 80s, but updates those genres with bigger, more present rhythm sections which owe more to Dead Prez than Dead Can Dance.

Released in July of last year, “DEPLOY” found a passionate fringe following. However, being a combination of collapse-of-America commentary and B-horror allegories built on retro synths, the album was too jarring, too early and too hyperbolic for some. There’s always a wink and a bit of tongue-in-cheek on an ALRIGHT brother record, but in late 2020, rather than sounding far-fetched, “DEPLOY (election year mix)” feels reasonable, insightful and sedate. The election year mix also includes two tracks that did not originally appear on “DEPLOY”, ‘Finish Him!” and “PTTP”.

It isn’t easy to box the songs on “DEPLOY” into a genre. The main strength of this album is what might be called a focused diversity. The album nods to the aesthetics of Joy Division, hints at the Industrial weight of Nine Inch Nails, and pays homage to the tones and melodies of composers like John Carpenter, but you might hear a Gravediggaz type beat on some tracks. For the election year rework, rather than toning back the savagery, ALRIGHT brother chose to double down, adding a couple more aggressive and guitar heavy tracks and remixing the initial offerings to sound more abrasive and noisy. Listen loud on your way to the polls, to the march, or to Taco Bell
