As per usual, the Black Metal part of the album is slight, as are the sung parts. This time more than usual, you can feel how the music treads from the layer of Atmospheric Black Metal unto Post-Black Metal, while still holding on to its core essence.
This band also has a slower tempo than most of this genre, so much so that you could consider some parts to have Doom Metal influences. Also, most of the album has some sort of ethereal feeling that feels similar in a way to Tiamat or other Gothic bands, but with Black Metal added to the mixture.
Loaded with well-played and non-distorted guitars and a soft percussion behind the beautiful voice, you really feel the music as to be a sip of bitter wine of summer. Covered in opulence, there is also some darkness hidden, like in the song “Into Crimson Oblivion”, but it is clearly not the main feeling to be transmitted.
I I recommend this album to fans of Atmospheric and Post-Black Metal.
