DISABLED – THE FINAL EXHUMATION (Review by Varg The Mighty )

Today’s review is of French Death Metal band Disabled’s last album, “The Final Exhumation”.
Starting with an exhumation as the intro, we can suddenly behold how the great Death Metal from the past comes back from the grave.
With simple melodies and a voice similar to Chris Barnes, this band that has returned from the 90’s offers us all that Death Metal used to be. These songs that so easily induce one to headbang improve with the demo quality that so perfectly fits extreme metal.
Instead of being just classic OSDM, this band reminds us of the earliest roots of Brutal Death Metal, when pioneers like Cannibal Corpse started experimenting to make the genre even more extreme.
While this album lacks some originality, it’s very nice to hear music in the original style when it was created. It’s also very clear that these were there when everything started and have much more talent doing old-school metal than the newer bands that try it.
I recommend this album if you like OSDM or Brutal Death Metal, and also if you enjoyed the original Disabled demos, since they haven’t changed their style at all and are loyal to their roots.
