DAZE OF JUNE’s first single ‘Black-Eyed’ has already reached over 150 K streams since its release, being added to New Core, New Metal Tracks, New Blood and many other playlists along the way. Now the band is set to release their biggest single to date featuring the charismatic and talented Courtney La Plante from Canadian metalcore band SPIRITBOX. ‘Hypnos’ is a dark and beautiful monster of a track combining the impressive clean vocals and screams of La Plante and Ganzhorn.
“Hypnos is the Greek god of sleep and this track is about having a dream or nightmare that something bad is coming. We tried creating an eerie, creeping feeling in the song, both with the lyrics and music. Furthermore we have Courtney LaPlante from Spiritbox featured on the song and she really helped by adding an extra layer to the feeling of the song with her vocals and lyrics for her parts. Courtney and Benjamin are singing back and forth to create this feeling of going back and forth with yourself, not knowing if it’s just a nightmare or an omen of something real that will happen”, vocalist Benjamin Julian Ganzhorn explains.
The upcoming full-length record has been recorded by Chris Kreutzfeldt (CABAL, Møl) at Badcat Studio and mixed and mastered by Henrik Udd (Architects, Bring Me The Horizon). The release of the new record has been postponed to 2021.
‘Hypnos’ is already available on all streaming services.
