The style this band currently plays highly reminds me of Lifelover, some songs of Shining or maybe mid-era Katatonia.
Sung in Swedish, you don’t need to understand the lyrics to feel the gloom transmitted with their melancholic music. In this song, they use a lot of piano combined with bass guitar and soft guitar arpeggios which escalate into the main riff to fall back down into the depressive elegance it has. This main riff isn’t very happy neither, and it perfectly compensates the low parts of the song and the simple, emotional solo towards the end.
This is a very good single that shows that the band is still capable of doing great music, and hopefully there will be more songs coming in the future. I recommend that you listen to this song any day in which you’re feeling down to drown the pain of existence in a wave of positive music.
