With the question mark in the body, the disc arrives to me; well it's a saying, because now everything comes via wetransfer and I have to download it, but the evolution is like that and I'm not going to be the one to criticize it! (But among us dear readers, those of us who love music physically give me an ass that you don't see !! laughs).
I open the promotional file, I read the name of the group Rambalaya, this seems Rock and Roll I think among myself, I see the record label Buenritmo identifying my suspicions more Rock and Roll and I download their first song "Bootlegger Man", fuck !! I think it sounds good, drum rhythm like yesteryear, in English? I quickly look at the file and all Spanish names, but it sounds like death guys!
I'm going to the end and now I understand part of the sound, The Producer Dani Nel.lo !! yeaahh! Who? you remember that Catalan rock n´roll band called Los Rebeldes and its most famous success "Mediterraneo" in the late 80's, because yes sir, Dani has a very respectable career in the world of national rock n´Roll , apart from collaborating with countless projects and having savored the mainstreet with some of his solo projects.
Speaking of which the first thing I notice is on the drums, it sounds special, it is because its leader and main composer is Anton Jarl, originally completed by Jonathan Herrero on vocals,
Héctor Martín on guitar, Matías Míguez on bass, Fernando Tejero on piano and Hammond, now joined by the winds of Pol Prats, tenor sax baritone and David Pastor trumpet, to shape a record that continues the EP released a couple of years ago, still under the name of another band called The Ramblers.
From that EP they rescue a couple of re-recorded songs "Chip On Your Shoulder" plus "Stop Fooling Around" adding 9 more songs, more than enough in instrumental composition, this bunch of excellent musicians give birth to this project as a complement to their presence in bands like Los Mambo Jambo, Contra Blues, bands of proven reputation both at the state and international level ... There is as proof of my words the energy of the next song on the album the blues punk "Can't Take It No More", The same soulman who is capable of touching in "It's Gonna Rain", and so many songs, that round off this good album.
