This album is a well-produced, modern sounding approach to Melodic Death Metal, similar to Arch Enemy, but with a Djent influence and a distant reminding of Thrash Metal with some songs sung in English and others in Spanish.
The guitar is quite technical, with some good solos, as the one in “Closer To Death”, and it is quite nice to hear if you also like more extreme subgenres, since they don’t include the soft, almost poppy elements most bands add to this style. Their result are some catchy, technical and strong songs.
An inconvenience this album has is the excess of effects, especially but not only in the voice, since these make the whole a bit too artificial and deprive the music of some of its spirit. It may even tire the listener, but behind all the special effects there is some pretty good melodies going on.
This album is a quite typical modern Melodic Death Metal piece, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t interesting to hear. As mentioned previously, you may even like the album if you’re into other music styles. It will be curious to hear more from this band that has evolved so much since its beginning.
