This full-length includes some good death metal songs in the style of early Xysma, but with Black Death Metal influences. The result is some technical, entertaining and heavy music to headbang at.
Besides the more melodic parts, there is also fast and extreme Death Metal bits to make the whole much better. The guitar has a very unique style, and the rest of the band complements this uniqueness perfectly, giving the music just it’s necessary originality as to not get to far away from the style’s core while not being another replica of every other band.
The album has a particular sound, helped by the bass guitar, which reminds of the 90’s, while making it sound also fresh. It has a lot of changes in every song, but they don’t come so unexpectedly as to make the music unenjoyable. The solos, especially the one at the end of “Limbic Infirmary” are also mesmerizingly good for this particular Death Metal subgenre.
Overall the album is quite good and original, with a Finnish vibe to it, but it may start to bore if you’re not too much of a Death Metal fan. This album will surely be very enjoyable for a fan of Xysma.
