Iranian one-man Death Metal band Bloody Sadism released in 2019 the album “Bloody Sadism”, and it offers an extended reach into most of the style’s sub-genres.
While mostly Brutal Death, this album has songs which are Slam, others that are Grind Death and others which sound like classic Death Metal, maybe like the English approach to the style.
The programmed drums may sometimes sound too artificial, especially when combined with effects on the vocals, but sometimes it seems like a real drummer and it gets combined with natural gutturals. The guitar is also very curious, because in some songs it doesn’t even sound like a guitar with all the distortion which makes it all more brutal. What really sounds best of all the album is the bass, whose sound is the most perfect for death metal.

Other from that, the songs may seem quite typical, without bringing nothing new to the genre, although it’s very pure in its style and is quite fun to listen. What may make this album odd is the intro (someone going to the toilet and then taking a shower) and the outro (nearly 4 minutes of rain). The second part of the song “Lucid Dream” is also quite strange, since it passes from a brutal death song to an acoustic epic with nothing in the middle.
If you’re a fan of Brutal Death Metal or Slam without all the technicalities that other musicians try to incorporate to make it more elaborate, you will definitely enjoy this album.
